Our training objectives are meticulously developed based on:

WHO DO WE TRAIN?

Our livestock training courses are designed to meet the needs of a wide range of learners within South Africa’s agricultural sector. RMIS provides tailored training for livestock farm employees, communal farmers, small- and medium-scale farmers, as well as large commercial operations. Each course is structured to build practical skills in animal handling, biosecurity, recordkeeping, and traceability, ensuring every participant gains valuable, industry-relevant knowledge that enhances productivity and sustainability across all farming levels.

WHERE DO WE TRAIN?

Through strong stakeholder engagement, RMIS ensures that its livestock training courses are accessible to farmers across South Africa. Training can be delivered individually on-farm or through organised group sessions facilitated by provincial departments, community structures, or industry transformation initiatives. This flexible approach allows farmers of all scales to receive quality, hands-on education that supports sustainable livestock management and traceability practices.

In addition, RMIS hosts monthly free online webinars covering topics relevant to farmers and their enterprises—such as livestock diseases, seasonal nutrition, stock theft prevention, and value chain compliance—ensuring continuous learning and professional development across the agricultural sector.

HOW DO WE TRAIN?

RMIS offers both credit-bearing and non-credit bearing livestock training courses, embracing a balance of formal and informal learning approaches to meet the diverse needs of South African farmers.

  • Our formal accredited livestock training courses are aligned with AgriSETA-accredited Unit Standards and cover various National Qualifications Framework (NQF) levels. These programmes adhere to nationally recognised and internationally comparable training standards. Typically running over 3–5 days, they combine theoretical instruction with practical demonstrations to ensure real-world application.
    • Participants who successfully complete these credit-bearing courses receive certificates endorsed by AgriSETA, recognising their competency and achievement
  • RMIS also provides short livestock training courses that follow accredited methodologies but are condensed to focus on specific skills and upskilling opportunities.
    • These courses do not include formal assessments; however, upon completion, participants receive certificates endorsed by the red meat industry, demonstrating their enhanced practical knowledge and commitment to professional development in livestock management.
