The Department of Agriculture and the Directorate of Animal Health have issued an urgent notice to all sales agents and farmers, emphasising the critical need for strict adherence to biosecurity measures. This notice comes in response to reports of sales agents from various agricultural companies visiting farms within and outside the Disease Management Area (DMA) amidst the ongoing Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) outbreak.

The RMIS urges all stakeholders to prioritise biosecurity measures and contribute to the collective effort to safeguard South Africa’s livestock industry from the ongoing FMD threat.
