The Department of Agriculture has released an update on the ongoing Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) outbreaks in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces.

While previous outbreaks in provinces like North West, Gauteng, Free State, and Mpumalanga have been resolved and officially closed with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal remain areas of concern. Disease Management Areas (DMAs) are still in effect, and strict biosecurity measures are being enforced to prevent further spread.
